Located in Noorderplassen, a beautiful green region of Almere, The Netherlands, Clover will become a cozy yet innovative and eco-friendly neighborhood. The Clover project is set to be completed in 2019, and will include 12 duplexes (making 24 units) and 45 row houses.
The site is located near the tranquil Noorderplassen lake, which adds to the peaceful and natural atmosphere surrounding the neighborhood. Furthermore, the site plan is divided into two parts, divided by a central bike path, which connects to other nearby residential areas with the lake and city center of Almere.
It is no coincidence that the project is named Clover. The duplexes with the flat and green roof, are inspired by and mimic the flat form of the leaves of the clover. Similarly the roof of the row houses take form of the accompanying clover flowers, which heads are conical and point upwards, creating a variety of shapes between the homes.
The urbanized character of our designs celebrate the forest and nature, subsequently connecting every street with an alluring axial view. This will provide an open and interactive community with effortless access to a green and natural environment. The architecture is shaped to have a vernacular common appeal, where the sustainable concepts are subtly integrated in the design. This includes roof top forest viewing decks, solar panels, green parking and water retention collectors.
The diversity of the residential buildings, supply a vast variety of choices for the inhabitants to enjoy.
