Amsterdam will soon have a dynamic new Urban Interactive District (UID) on Arena Boulevard in the southeast part of town (Amsterdam Zuidoost) that seamlessly integrates living, working, shopping, and leisure. C Concept Design is representing the developer, Ballast Nedam, to realize this mixed-use project covering 2.5 hectares and featuring one of the highest towers in the city’s skyline. The project also includes 30,000 m2 for interactive leisure and theater, 20,000 m2 for office space and 18,000 m2 for a hotel. Finally, approximately 700 starter homes will be built, spread over 4 residential blocks and connected by a square. The overall design concept ensures that much attention is paid to integrating urban planning into the fabric of the existing Arena area. The result greatly enhances the neighborhood’s position as an entertainment hub by supplementing the existing large leisure functions with smaller leisure functions and urban facilities. Additionally, there will be a focus on attracting virtual reality development companies to the location.
